Truly, God has raised Banning Liebscher up for âsuch a timeâ to mobilize a new generation of revivalists. Continuing on with the topic of Revival Prayer, it is vital for those asking for the rain of revival to build a history with God in the âsecret placeâ of His Presence.
How does one become gripped with a burden for revival? Intimate union with God.
How does one become like the great prayer warriors of old, persisting and pressing in for outpouring, even when morality is declining, the church is backsliding, and all hope seems lost?
Prayer warriors are cultivated, not born. They are forged in the fires of spiritual discontentment. Even though they refuse to turn a blind eye to the present conditions, they persist in prayer in spite of what they see because they have been captured by the heart of God. Imprisoned by His purposes. They know beyond the shadow of any doubt that Heavenâs will is to break into the earth with such force, power, outpouring, and awakening, that no church will be able to contain the movement. Walls will not be able to restrict or restrain the masses who rise up to carry God into their unique spheres of influence.
Before Jesus Culture was a global revival movement or an internationally recognized worship band, it was a young adult/youth community in Redding, CA that decided to be committed to revivalâno matter what the cost. No matter how long, how hard, or how relentless the efforts needed to be, Banning and his team had said their yes to revival. They didnât say yes because God assured them of success, fame or notoriety; they said yes because they were not content to let the land remain âdry and wearyâ when there was a River to be released.
The following chapter is from Banning Liebscherâs book, Jesus Culture.
